The Case for Mobile OS Tablets - Consulting

The Problem
As a technology consultant I have many clients that I serve at any one time. On long term engagements I get issued a laptop and company email account. However, most organisations don't allow you to access that account from another PC. So I'm left trying to manage my schedule and emails from multiple PCs.

A Partial Solution
AH! but they allow you to access email thru your phone. These devices have special security functions which allow the company to "reach" into your device and remove the account if they need to. OK, great. That solved the email problem....sort of...composing long responses on a phone is not fun. Plus, the calendar was on the phone, but not the computer. So you end up doing a whole backend forward, so you can put the meetings on your computer...but then your phone has double meetings for all your company stuff. It's a mess.

WutWurx?
So, what I'm trying now...is a tablet. Now, I'm not an iLemming. So I am using a Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. This is a good portable size...with a pen...and a decent keyboard, which I'm creating this post on. I can reply to emails nicely. My schedule is easily managed across all my clients.

Caveats yeah, some sites don't show up properly on the web. The apps aren't full windows versions. As a tech consultant, I don't know how I'm going to get along without visio. But. This is just a test. We'll see how it goes.
